LONDON (Wednesday, 7 November 2018): National Geographic Traveller Food听urges food lovers to embrace the season and indulge in some classic cold-weather cuisine. In the latest issue, distributed free with the December鈥檚 National Geographic Traveller, we鈥檝e searched the world鈥檚 most wondrous winter destination and selected 18 hearty, comforting dishes 鈥 from Tuscan bean soup and Swiss fondue to German goose and Nepalese dumplings, these winter warmers are truly worth seeking out.
Glen Mutel, editor National Geographic Traveller Food, said: “At this time of year, it鈥檚 perhaps natural to pine for better weather and dream of warmer climes. But I think there’s something to be said for celebrating winter, which is why we’re paying tribute to comfort food – those fortifying, comforting dishes that make winter holidays so special. After all, what tastes better than French onion soup in a Paris cafe on a crisp December day?”
Also in this issue, we explore Mexico鈥檚 beloved beer cocktail, the michelada, enjoy a full-on feast in the Georgian mountains, and indulge in the traditional sweets and biscuits of Sardinia. All this, plus guides to the food hotspots of Cape Town, Chicago and Seoul.
